Gold Jewelry

Weight of the gold ever mined in the world, about 153 000 tonnes. This number will fit in a cube with sides of 20 meters.

The value of gold jewelry is measured in carats:
1 carat is equal to 4,17% in total gold alloy. Accordingly:
24 carats - is a 100% gold (used rarely)
21 Karat - 87.5% gold (this alloy is often used Jewellers South-East Asia and the Middle East)
18 carat - 75% (the most popular rafting in the world)
14 karat - 58.5% (common in the U.S.)
10 carats - 41,7% (the most affordable jewelry, they are often sold in the jewelry departments of shopping centers)

Color made of gold depends on what metals are added to the alloy:
White: an alloy of yellow gold and nickel or palladium, zinc and copper, sometimes yellow gold sputtered rhodium
Pink: alloy of yellow gold and copper
Green: an alloy of yellow gold, silver, copper and zinc.
